- Biography
Have you ever dreamed of making a difference in peoples lives? Mustafa Mahmood decided to fulfill that dream. In August of 2005, Mustafa boarded the plane en route to the United States to pursue a career in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This field of surgery was his dream ever since he witnessed many victims of trauma to the facial area. However, this wasn’t the only time that Mustafa had realized his dreams.
Mustafa was born on August 24, 1988, in Al-Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. For long, he had grown up in a foreign land, a land far away from his true home, Iraq. His parents strived to keep the patriotism for his country in his heart ever since he was aware of this world. His whole life revolved around the Iraqi culture where he was exposed to all of Iraq’s dimensions from music to food to its long lasting political instability.
Mustafa is originally from the city of Mosul. Mosul was one of the oldest cities in the world, and was home to one of the oldest civilizations. His belief in this city reflected on his desire to educate people about the true beauty and magic that this city holds in its roots. Mustafa’s desire and dream to educate the people about the city that was once called “The Pearl of the Middle East” was fulfilled when he was accepted as a member of the ICSP family.
He is passionate about his country and this is apparent by his constant strife to present, even before having been admitted to the program. He can provide a personal account of the current war in Iraq and a unique perspective that surpasses any form of media that is available to the public today.
Today, Mustafa encourages people of all ages to learn about different cultures by doing the research themselves. He believes that one day everyone will come to understand and see the Middle East as a haven for ancient societies and not a land made for war.
